I bought this truck at a swap meet a while back. Originally it was dark blue with rust and body damage throughout, I took a break from working on my woody for about 4-6 months so that I could finish this. I had the "Inline" 6 cylinder engine rebuilt while I worked on the body. The most time consuming sections were right behind the front wheels, and the interior door steps. Once the body was completed and the engine was installed, I painted it in my garage, I thought that the original dark blue made the truck look like a tank, so I chose the light blue with a white stripe behind the cab. The bed was stripped of the old wood and new wood was installed and the rest was coated with bed coating. I installed additional brake lights in the upper bed rails, using bottled tea caps as the facing, then intalled the lenses and bulbs inside the rails. The finishing touch was the chrome wheels to give it a sporty look. This truck is my primary means of transportation and is driven 40 miles to and from work every day. I will be posting more pictures of the rebuilding process soon, with more explanations. |
